A family business in the north

We are Ellen and Glenn, and Arctic Loop is our family-run company based in Grovfjord in Northern Norway. Our roots in local passenger transport go back to the 1990s. In 2018, the business became Balteskard Buss, continuing local transport services in the area. In 2026, we took the next step and became Arctic Loop — bringing our long transport experience together with a growing focus on Arctic experiences and tourism. When you travel with us, you meet the people behind the company. We focus on small groups, personal hosting and sharing our local knowledge of the place we call home.

Why we do this

When we travel, we often notice how different everyday life can be around the world. As a family, we have travelled extensively, lived in Asia and experienced different cultures and ways of life. It has made us appreciate even more what we have here at home. Here in Northern Norway, life is close to nature. There is space, fresh air and a sense of freedom that is increasingly rare. Our children can simply run outside and play, explore the forest or head down to the water. That freedom is something we value deeply.
